Let’s Talk About Bad Bunny’s Internet Breaking Acrylic Nails

Puerto Rican Rapper, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny in the hip-hop and reggaeton industry is breaking the machismo stigma. Introducing a more androgynous style to his music and his nails. Ocasio recently appeared in this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards sporting long yellow acrylic nails that shortly blew up in social media. Ocasio is known to wear unique clothes that set him aside from other make rappers. He dyes his hair and regularly gets manicures and pedicures. This is Ocasio’s way of demonstrating his love for art through his nails and his music. He is challenging society’s views on masculinity and what is normal for men.

Ocasio is known to be very gender fluid among his audience. Today’s culture is adapting to his style and is having a positive effect on changing society’s view on what a guy should look like.

It’s encouraging more open mindedness in men’s fashion. Breaking the social norm and the rules. Ocasio encourages individuality and equality among all genders.

  1. I think that what Bad Bunny has done, has really allowed more people to be open to doing similar things and being able to change their appearance to whatever they feel comfortable wearing. This can range from more simple things like clothing, to even having a manicure. There is nothing wrong with taking care of yourself. However, I do see why it takes someone so well known doing it for it to be a trend or be considered more normalized. He truly did inspire other people to express themselves in these ways.
