On March 31st, 2019 rapper Nipsey Hussle was murdered in front on his clothing store in Los Angeles. What started off as a crime scene, quickly become a space for the community to mourn and pay their respect. A mural was also created at the location of the crime scene. It is not uncommon that crime scenes change into environments for loved ones to visit, but when and how does the change in the space happen? How does it quickly change from a murder location to a space for love? Introducing art into the space is one way that this change happens because of the way that art can touch us emotionally. Those who are mourning a loss may feel a connection to any art created of their loved one. There is something to be said about to connection between art and death.
