There was a huge controversy with the brand Shae Moisture due to the commercial they came out with. The commercial consisted of one black woman and two white women in it. The black woman stated that she was bullied as a child and people would throw stuff in her hair. The two white girls stated that they simply didn’t know what to do with their hair or if they should dye it another color. This caused the African American community to feel insulted because this brand was targeted toward African American type curly hair. Some feel that it is okay that the white woman were in the commercial but they made it seem negative from what the African American woman was saying. A lot of fans feel as though the company is moving away from their original goal which was to help the curly hair African American community with maintaining their hair.
