The song “Hail Mary” by Tupac Amaru Shakur is about Tupac himself. He poetically describes how he is a gangsta who won’t commit crime unless he is pushed to do so. Tupac discuss how he has no time to aim his gun, but shoots it toward his enemies until the clip is empty. Later in his song he brings up selling drugs and whatever it takes to make it big, prison for Tupac wasn’t a fear. Lastly, Tupac shows how the government and the police don’t own the streets, but instead, his ‘clique,’ The Outlawz do.

The poem Tupac sings is a form of art, but his lyrics are vulgar and are about crimes he either was willing or had done before. This poem spoke the mind of Tupac; this was how he felt about life. He spoke what he wanted and wanted everyone to hear it in his lyrics. Tupac was royalty on the West Coast and people listened to him; he was idolized and feared by most.
