Yarn bombing is a type of street art that uses knitted fibers to create colorful displays. A man only known as ‘Bryan’ and approximately 30 others knitted flower stems and pedals onto the stop signs in his Clairemont neighborhood. The project resulted in approximately 100 stop signs being turned into blooming flowers. Despite the positive feedback from the community local law enforcement officials have given ‘Bryan’ 10 ten days to remove all the knitted flower stems. He is uncertain whether or not to remove them; If he removes them himself he can repurpose the yarn, if its up to the city they may not remove them at all. Unlike other types of street art ‘yarn bombing’ is easy to remove all that is required is a pair of safety scissors. This project was nothing more then an attempt to beautify a neighborhood and should be allowed to stay.
