This is the Welder up 1928 vintage rat rod. In the 50s it was deviant to have bare metal cars. Hot rodders would constantly be harassed by the police. Today it is illegal to have open pipes and a fender-less vehicle weighing over 1800lbs. Also the body of your car cannot be lower than the bottom of your wheels. (in case of a flat your wheels would hit the ground not the body) Hot rodders today also seem to get harassed by the police because the appearance of such vehicles. In actuality these rat rods are very well built and engineered. Rat rods are a way or the builder to express him/her through their ride. Often seen in the shifter knob or paint scheme.
