The barrier between Israel and Palestine represents more than just a separation between two territories. Since the creation of Israel, both sides have fundamentally abhorred one another and in recent news have acted out their disgust by destroying both cities with bombs. One way it seems the proclaimed citizens of Palestine have shown their resistance of oppression from Israel, was by erecting a colossal imagine of former Palestine leader Yassar Arafat with the English writing to “Free Palestine”. Its very ironic that it would be in English, rather than Arabic writing which is the spoken language in almost all Middle Eastern countries. Yet, the mural shows a powerful message of national pride for the people of Palestine and even though it can be perceived to be a criminal act of vandalism, it shows a like-minded belief in their right to occupy their land.
