Some criminals go to great lengths to avoid being captured, so we see car chases and wanted posters all over TV. However, some are willing to go farther than others to avoid being caught such as criminals who get plastic surgery to change their appearance. Some cases are John Dillinger (picture above) who attempted to change his cleft chin, dimples, and nose in the 1930s, and a Palestinian terrorist, Abu Nidal, who underwent many facial implants. Typically if a criminal will change their appearance, though, they will try to change their fingerprints by using either acid to burn off the print or skin grafts to cover the prints. This makes me wonder if maybe there should be a waiting period to get plastic surgery like there is a waiting period to own a gun so that criminals have less of a chance of getting away.
