Since before 500 B.C. animals have been used to gain knowledge of anatomy and bio-medical research. The knowledge acquired from these instances can help save the lives of both animals and people. There have been regulations in the United States ever since the 1960’s and there have been many adaptations since then. However, sometimes the animals who undergo these tests and medical experiments are tortured for the majority of their lives and are sometimes killed in the process. Although there are good intentions with animal testing, is it wrong if the animals live a painful and predetermined life? Another thing to consider is if these animals are bred for testing should that make it any more acceptable?
