April 27, 2013February 14, 2021 bgoeltzenleuchter

This one is pretty graphic and creepy, but it’s about an 18th century French anatomist named Honore Fragonard, cousin of Jean Honore Fragonard. Originally, he was a professor of anatomy at a university, but was expelled six years later as a madman. Honore Fragonard would acquire corpses, sculpt them into

ORIGINALFAKE

April 27, 2013February 14, 2021 bgoeltzenleuchter

Original Fake is a brand that creates figurine toys and clothes. They often use iconic characters but with a little twist to it. I am not sure if the brand has agreements with Disney or the owners/creators of Charlie Brown characters in order to use the original names of the

Bathroom Stall Mischief and Messages

April 27, 2013February 14, 2021 bgoeltzenleuchter

When choosing a bathroom stall, maybe I’m the only one but I definitely prefer a stall covered in marker. Tagging gives bathroom artwork a bad rep as “graffiti”. The beauty of the bathroom stall is that no individual artist gets credit for their own work. Instead, it all adds up

The Fuck Shit Stack that rap has become

April 27, 2013February 14, 2021 bgoeltzenleuchter

“Fuck Shit Stack” by musician/comedian Reggie Watts is essentially a satire on what rap lyrics have become. What was once a form of poetic expression of hardship has turned into a popular music genre with lyrics most people do not even really listen to. In his song “Fuck Shit Stack”,

About Us

The Art | Crime Archive (ACA) is a collaborative laboratory, teaching center, and web-based platform devoted to the study of the shadow space where art and crime overlap. The ACA’s online platform was created in 2012 and since its inception has functioned as a participatory archive for a wide range of scholars, artists, students, and community members. The ACA welcomes submissions of media and accompanying short essays on art, crime, and culture. The ACA peer-reviews submissions and only accepts materials that significantly contribute to the broader academic and artistic discourses on creativity and actual criminal behavior. As a general rule, it does not publish submissions related to crime fiction or figurative works.
