The recently opened museum, The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities, Fine Art & Natural History, features a collection of unique items. They have your regularly unregular Picasso prints, but they also display ancient Chinese sex toys, and even excretions from celebrities, one of whom is Amy Winehouse. As an additional bonus, a visitor can pay five pounds, or about eight US dollars, for a whiff. This creates a whole new level of interaction with museum visitors and art pieces. The aim of the museum is to “cheer people up.” With these rare items along with mummified babies, McDonalds Happy Meal toys, and actor Russell Crowe’s urine, I would argue that the museum lives up to its name. How does this museum compare to traditional museums? Is it delightfully offensive or is it contemporary garbage?
