Artist Chad Michael Morrisette created this installation on top of his residence in West Los Angeles as an immediate in response to the devastating Orlando shooting and that took to many innocent lives. The fifty mannequins echoes the fifty people who died in the shooting that occurred in Orlando June 12. This installation sparked controversies from both passerbys who are disturbed by this very graphic imagery as well as people on social media who believes the focus shouldn’t be gun control and the message is biased. Artists sometimes choose aggressive imageries to evoke strong emotions among the audience, but is this imagery too graphic/disturbing to be in wide public display?
