Erik Ravelo made a very clear statement about the controversial issues plaguing our children. The art addresses the pedophilia within the Vatican, the child sexual abuse in tourism in Thailand, the effects of the war in Syria, the human trafficking of organs on the black market, the effects of school shootings and gun laws in America, and the effects of obesity and the fast food industries. The fact that all the children are posing in a crucifix stance on the backs of the previous generation to them clearly shows the importance of how the previous generation affects the next. These children are vulnerable and victims. It’s heartbreaking to see but an amazing artistic way to expose these issues.
