When I ask around town and some friends, I ask,” Have you ever gone to Chicano Park Day?” Most say no whats that. Other people just say isn’t that the park with all the graffiti under the coronado bridge. I say yes, but it is not the park with all that graffiti, its the park that tells stories. I know a lot of people that say they should just paint over all the murals at Chicano Park, that its pointless. But for all the Chicano community its more than just that. The so called graffiti are murals that within each one tells a story. Each individual has a different way of describing what the mural means to them. When graffiti like this impacts a city in a positive way, that is when it is no longer named graffiti, it now becomes art.
