Banksy art is very symbolic. It is making a statement in a very creative way but it is seen as graffiti. In this site there are many different works that Banksy did but I’m going to focus on the one with the man cancelling where it says, “Follow your dreams.” Here he is portraying that society is built to make most people fail. Also, the man looks really depressed so it is implying a time where nobody will succeed in anything. Perhaps he is being manipulated and strangled by rich people. There has to be some type of economic message here. They might have paid him to destroy everyone’s hope of success but he feels mortified doing it and despite his conscience he has no other way of making money. This is another powerful message by Banksy and it is definitely up to an individual to interpret it their way.
