In a Florida museum there was an exhibit of human bodies. The exhibit used real corpses that are posed in various positions, fetuses, and other body parts. The exhibit caused some type of controversy because the bodies were unidentified/unclaimed individuals from China and there was never any consent given to use the bodies in the exhibit. Members on the Anatomical Board were divided on whether or not the exhibit should be opened because of the “informed consent” issue, but in the end, “Bodies” still opened. I have been to similar exhibits, and I don’t find it gross or offensive or anything. I don’t know if this sounds bad, but I feel like if after an extended time being unsuccessful in looking for someone to give consent then I don’t think you should need to have consent for something like this.
