Here is a picture of the French artist Philippe Petit illegally tightrope walking between the World Trade Center Towers. He describes creativity to be fueled by crime in his artwork and in his book. He says that with this illegal high-wire walk he intended to inspire, and give the “gift of beauty and inspiration.” He explains that the beauty of it is that it not easy, not legal; the “perfect crime.” With this he expresses that some crime is acceptable or even recommended for the purposes of creativity. Perhaps if this act of tightroping was legal, it might have not had the same appeal or effect that Petit indented. Are such illegal activities then acceptable if they propel creativity? http://www.npr.org/2014/05/11/311092272/for-artistic-criminal-breaking-rules-is-key-to-creativity
